MINI Takes the States 2016

A 15 day, epic journey of MINI Coopers across the USA. The rally, sponsored by MINI USA, officially started in Atlanta GA and finished in Palm Springs CA. My trip took closer to 3 weeks as I drove a round trip, starting and finishing in Lexington KY. Can't wait to do it again!

every morning tents were set up, one for check in & daily route map (and get your city button), others tents for FeedingAmerica, Financial services, accessories, etc and the all important food.

  • The official route, mine started and ended in Lexington KY.
  • Friday July 8th - All packed up and door magnet on, head for Atlanta
  • Arrive in Atlanta, pick up credentials & goodie bag at the InterContinental. And meet my hosts for the evening, Crystal & Martin. Luckily we were south of the city by time protests got going.
  • day 1, arriving at Atlanta Motor Speedway along with everyone else
  • Everyone's MINI is unique, really and truly.
  • got one of these stickers for my Countryman
  • Parking as it will be done for the next 2 weeks, tightly packed in neat rows.
  • every model of MNI available, and some no longer available, is here.

  • many colors, wrappings, plasti-dip
  • MINIs don't come with spare tires so some opted to add one. Lots of great license plates and badges. MINIs are often times given names, here is Nigel.
  • Did I mention they're all unique? BTW stickers add horsepower.
  • Opening ceremonies included parachuters landing in MNI convertibles

  • Our first Surprise & Delight in Ridgeway SC, a town of about 300
  • MINIs were parked everywhere possible in this small town.
  • At the tea room we received a reusable MINI to go cup filled with Laura's ice tea.
