MINI Takes the States 2016

A 15 day, epic journey of MINI Coopers across the USA. The rally, sponsored by MINI USA, officially started in Atlanta GA and finished in Palm Springs CA. My trip took closer to 3 weeks as I drove a round trip, starting and finishing in Lexington KY. Can't wait to do it again!

  • parking lot at M1 Concourse in Pontiac MI
  • there were some kids on the trip, poor things
  • the tie dye car behind mine is drive by a fellow who wears a tye died shirt every day. He also collects shampoo/soap/toothpaste from the hotels for homeless shelters, so everyone leaves bags on top of his car full of the stuff.

  • we got to go fast at the first two tracks but have been kept to "parade laps" since then

  • Surprise & Delight at The Gourmet Cupcake in Midland OH. Seeing as some delights had run out before everyone got thru, the owner guaranteed there'd be cupcakes for all. Also picked up a sugar cookie, not the fancy painted ones but cute enough.

  • traveling exhibit, The Art of Dr Seuss, at the Midland Center for the Arts, had to stop
  • fyi - Flit was the bug spray of the time, Geisel did their advertising cartoons
  • the only bighorn I say on this trip

  • 20 miles to St Ignace and it had to rain, no evening events today
